Fall Ball Updates
FIELDS COME TO LIFE AS FALL BALL STARTS UP - Finally the weather gave us a window and we took full advantage of it. A little on the muggy side...but baseball was played none-the-less. Middleboro and Hanover kicked things off this year in Hanover and we came away very impressed by not only the facility, but the presentation of both baseball teams as well. Both games were played on Eliis field # 3 and Coach Donny relays that pitching is a strong point for the mighty Americans of Hanover however Middleboro will NEVER be out coached with Mike D'Errico behind the clip board. The National Hanover team kicked off their season In Dighton this past Saturday too and some great baseball was played off of Rte. 44. The Dighton facility is always a great place to play. This was the only facility we did not get too but we will be there this weekend when Dighton and EI Cardinal lock up for a twin bill. Next up was the Ted Williams Complex in Lakeville were Lakevilles' # 1 and # 2 team's hosted the Extra Innings teams. After viewing these Titans in action I can see some great baseball being played over the next 5 weeks. Both Lakeville teams have some fantastic pitching and know what to do with a piece of aluminum. Look for both EI teams to steadily improve as the season rolls along. Also in Lakeville the 9u's took to field number 6 and coach Arter, once again has some mighty fine players carrying the leather. Coach Barnes for the EI team worked everyone in and out we look forward to week 2 as the rust leaves the bats.
This week Hanover American will host Lakeville # 2 and Hanover National opens the gates for EI Black and coach White's Wizards with the Wands. Anyone in the "hood" can see these games at 9:00 & 10:00am respectively on Saturday the 20th at Ellis Field Complex. Any Middleboro fans can see their local 9 at Community field on Saturday @ 4:00pm against Lakeville # 1. Of course rounding out our 12u schedule will be EI Cardinal traveling to Dighton for a noon time duel, also on Saturday. Coach Colitti, still recovering from the emotional drama of Tom Brady's injury will have his team ready for battle in Dighton. Lakeville will once again host the 9u Game Of The Week and be seen live right on field # 2.
Admission is free to all these games (no one has a contract yet) so come on by and catch our nations future being kids.
