Instructors at Extra Innings

Extra Innings offers individualized, year round professional baseball and softball instruction. Our staff uses a uniform step-by-step teaching system to encourage positive progress with all our students.

The Extra Innings staff features former and current professional players, college all-stars, and area college and high school coaches.

Lou Colitti – Baseball Instructor

Brockton High Assistant Coach 1966-74, ... Stonehill College Head Baseball Coach 1974-93... New England Division II Coach of the year 1980... Massasoit Comm. College Asst. Coach 1994-95...Junior College World Series 1994...Bridgewater State College Asst. Coach 1996-04... "Get Ready Baseball" Brockton High...Mass Hitting Club Camps and Clinics. Lou will be available for private instructions in all phases of the game.

 

Kerry MacDonald – Softball Pitching Instructor

Kerry began her career with Brockton High and was a four year varsity starter from 1994-1998. She was a four-time league All-Star, receiving both league MVP honors as well as All-Scholastic 3 of those 4 years. An award was established in her honor in 1999 and is presented annually to the BHS softball team member who exhibits characteristics of Kerry. Kerry received from pitching instruction Peter Looney and is noted for her outstanding knuckleball pitch. Kerry was also the starting pitcher for her Junior Olympic team where they competed at the National level. Kerry continued her career at Division 1 University of Connecticut where she pitched and played third. Kerry is available for instruction in pitching for softball.

 

Josh White – Baseball Pitching Instructor

Josh started his career at Brockton High where he was a 4 year varsity pitcher. Josh has also done camps with Glen Tufts for 9 years at the Play Ball Camp @ The Dome in Bridgewater and at Legion field. Josh was also a Brockton High varsity coach in '03 and '04. He also coached the 15 year old Raynham All stars in '04. Josh pitched for Bridgewater State College for 4 years and is second all time in strikeouts with BSC. He also played on the Easton Huskies team that went to the Stan Musial World Series in 2007. Josh is the coach of the Plymouth County Whitecaps 13u AAU team. Josh is available for pitching instruction at Extra Innings.

 

Shauna Ferris – Softball Hitting and Fielding Instructor

Shauna started her career at Brockton High and was named to the varsity softball squad as a freshman and started all four years. She was accepted to play for the Dunphy Drifters Junior Olympic 16u softball team while in highschool. Shauna was named Brockton High Outstanding athlete of the year in 1996 and helped the 18u Drifters to the ISA National Championship. From there Shauna was recruited to Mitchell College in New London, CT. on a softball scholarship. In 1999 she transferred to Eastern Connecticut State College where she obtained a degree in Sports and Leisure Management. Shauna currently plays in the Dorchester Women's League where she continues to be an All-star. Shauna is available for instruction in hitting and fielding.

Nick Tempesta – Baseball Hitting/Fielding Instructor

Nick got his start at Brockton High and was the first player in school history to start every game as a freshman. Nick played shortstop for the first State Championship team in school history in 1997. The following year Nick helped lead Eastern Connecticut State to the Division III World Series as a freshman. After college Nick was drafted by the Toronto BlueJays in 2001. Nick played Minor League ball for the BlueJays and Phillies. Nick is available for hitting and fielding lessons.

Eugene Julien – Baseball Hitting/Fielding Instructor

Eugene joins us from the Brockton Rox where he plays shortstop for the local nine. Eugene began his career at Brockton High School and is currently the ONLY player to play for both Brockton High AND the Brockton Rox. After high school Eugene attended Eastern Connecticut State where he was Little East Conference Rookie of the Year in 2001. In 2002 Eugene lead the Warriors to the Division III World Series Championship. Eugene batted .352 and lead the team with 32 stolen bases in 2004 and another appearance in the World Series. Eugene finished his college career with 3 Little East All-star selections, 2 time all New England selection at two different positions (second/outfield), first in games played, second in stolen bases, third in hits, fourth in runs, and fifth in assists. After joining the Rox in 2005 Eugene went on to lead the team in steals two years straight. Eugene is available for hitting and fielding instruction.

Stephanie Pierce – Softball Pitching Instructor

Stephanie joins us from Bridgewater State College where she is currently in her junior year with the Lady Bears. She has earned MASCAC Pitcher of the Week honors numerous times throughout her career to this point. She has also earned NEISCA Pitcher of the week as a sophomore. Stephanie began her career with Notre Dame academy in Worcester where she was named captain of the Rebels Softball Team. She also earned academic honors as both a junior and senior. Stephanie is available for Softball Pitching Instruction.

Jennifer Nelligan – Softball Pitching Instructor

Jenn began her career at Downey Little league in Brockton, where her team won state titles in both junior and senior leagues. She also competed in Junior Olympic teams at the national level. Jenn’s career continued to Brockton High School where she was a four year starter. As a freshman she started at second base and did some relief pitching. She won Outstanding Athlete of the week for her first pitching appearance. As a junior, her team was the first and only Brockton High Softball team to win the Division 1 State Title. Jenn shutout opponents in 48 of 49 innings of Tournament play. She had 117 K’s with and an Era .69 in 121 innings with a batting average of .459. Jenn was awarded Big 3 All Star all four years. She was also awarded the Boston Herald All Scholastic and the Boston Globe All Star, a s well as being awarded Outstanding Athlete of the week numerous times. Senior year, Jenn ended her year with an ERA of .54, 156 k’s in 191 innings, she had a BAVG of .426 (29 for 68) with a HR and 11 runs scored, 5 RBI’s. She was selected as a Big 3 All Star, 3 time Enterprise, 3 time Herald, and Globe all scholastic. She went on to pitch for Wheaton College.

Chrissy Semler – Softball Hitting/Pitching Instructor

Chrissy began her career playing with the boys in Brockton's Brookfield Little League. She switched to softball at age 11 where see went on to play varsity softball all 4 years of high school in Avon. She broke the school strike out record with 20 strikeouts in 1 game and repeated it on 3 other occasions. She also lead the team with the highest on base percentage and runs scored all 4 years. While in high school Chrissy played for the Bay State Blaze Junior Olympic softball team as a 14u, 16u and 18u where they won several state and regional championships. Chrissy was recruited by several Division I and III colleges and played her Freshman year at Curry College. Unfortunately injuries to her arm and ankle cut her career short. Chrissy graduated from Bridgewater State College in 2005. She also ran the Brookfield Little League Softball in Brockton. Chrissy is available for hitting and fielding instruction here at Extra Innings.

Greg Kelley – Baseball Pitching Instructor

Greg began his baseball career at Braintree High School where he was a 4 year letterman in both baseball and hockey. Greg was a Bay State Conference All-star in 1995 while toeing the rubber for Braintree. Greg went on to Northeastern University in 1997 where he quickly adapted to the college game by throwing a complete game victory over Providence in late April. In 1998 he lead the Huskies in wins, strikeouts and innings pitched and hurled a complete game victory over Vermont in the America East Tournament. In each of his nine starts that year he struck out 5 or more batters. Greg struck out 10 batters his game of the season in 1999 against Canisius. Finished third on the team in strikeouts and 10th in the conference in era with a 4.07. His first trip out of the pen got the Huskies a save as he pitched three scoreless innings against Missouri-St.Louis. Greg finished up his career with the Huskies with a 3.86 era in 5 appearances his senior season. His totals included 155+ innings pitched with 132 strikeouts and 14 complete games. Greg is available for pitching instruction here at Extra Innings.
